History<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The International Football Tournament Azores U11 is the largest and oldest tournament held annually in the Azores. It carries a strong sporting, social, and cultural significance, bringing together the five continents in the middle of the Atlantic, in a rich diversity of backgrounds and origins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every year, teams from North and South America, Africa, Asia, and Europe take part. Over its 18 editions, the tournament has featured world-class clubs such as Feyenoord Rotterdam, Olympique de Marseille, Juventus Football Club, PSV Eindhoven, Parma Calcio, Ava\u00ed FC, Eintracht Frankfurt, FC Porto, Sporting CP, and SL Benfica, among many others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every year, around Easter, Ponta Delgada becomes the epicentre and capital of youth football in the Azores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a history spanning more than five centuries, Ponta Delgada is a multifaceted city where tradition meets modern life. The Azores are the world’s first archipelagic region to be certified as a “Sustainable Tourism Destination,” having achieved “Level IV Silver” status in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
