Youth Development

Youth development is the main pillar of Clube União Micaelense. It’s in the youth ranks that the club’s future is built — and it’s also where the most time, dedication, and rigour are invested. It’s no coincidence that CUM holds 4-star Certified Training Entity status, a stamp of quality that reflects the standard of the entire training structure, from how training sessions are organised to the individual support given to each athlete.

In the 2025/2026 season, the club’s youth setup was organised into 9 teams, from 7-a-side to 11-a-side football:

7-a-side Football — Benjamins: Sub-10 B, Sub-10 A and Sub-11, and Infantis: Sub-12
9-a-side Football — Infantis: Sub-13
11-a-side Football — Iniciados: Sub-14 and Sub-15, Juvenis: Sub-17, and Juniores: Sub-19

In total, CUM’s youth setup brings together close to 200 athletes, guided by a coaching staff of more than 20 coaches.

Training sessions mostly take place at the Estádio Municipal Marquês Jácome Correia, the club’s home ground. Due to space management needs, some teams also train, occasionally, at the Arrifes field.
